What brilliant idea; what surefire opportunity; what “can’t pass this up” deal have you rejected in the last year? I wouldn’t say “none” too quickly. Even the captains of industry can lack vision.
“Shortly after WWII, the whole of Volkswagen – factory, patents and all – were offered to Henry Ford II for FREE!!” Yes, for free. Dismissing the Bug as a bad design, he passed on one of the best selling vehicles of all time. Think we would be bailing out the Big 3 automakers today if they had more vision??
And what about you and your organization? What seemingly crazy idea have you passed on or are going to pass on that could save mankind or at least make the world a better place? I’d be going back through the trash can about now.
